Piumara Residence

We had a wonderful stay at Piumara Residence, Kandy. From the moment we arrived, the staff warmly welcomed us with a refreshing welcome drink and big smiles. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and always ready to support with anything we needed.The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a big balcony offering a beautiful view. Sitting on the balcony during sunset while drinking coffee was truly relaxing. In the morning, the cool, natural air made the stay even more special.The room had a large smart TV, comfortable bed, and everything was well maintained. Breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant service was excellent.The location is perfect — walking distance to the Temple of the Tooth and Kandy Lake, which made sightseeing very easy.Overall, a peaceful place with great hospitality, beautiful views, and a homely feeling.Highly recommended! I will definitely visit again.

Very poor quality BF. Ordered for a coffee and gave me a tea. I have to walk back to the very dirty kitchen to change it. Then he served with a local coffee with coffee dust in it. Went back to get a strainer and did it buy myself.

PRACTICALLY EVERYTHING. Went to stay for 2 nights and ran away after the first night. Didn't even ask for a refund.

The breakfast was great, one of the things they made was a Sri Lankan omelette, the coffee was very nice and the view from the restaurant is outstanding. The rooms and bathroom were very clean and we liked the little window in the shower so you could still take in the view. The view was stunning, very close by was a girls school so from your room/the restaurant you could hear and see the schools morning routine which was very different compared to what we were used to back home, was interesting to see.The staff were very friendly and helpful, they gave us good recommendations for shops and restaurants. Nothing was too much trouble. We really liked the location, not only was it a great view but you could go for a walk to some near by craft shops, you could walk onto the road and find a tuk easily. It was very quiet, and very local, you got to experience local Sri Lankan life. There were lots of monkeys around in the morning and evenings, you could see them from the windows and balcony.We would definitely return to the hotel if we visit Kandy again.

We liked everything, there’s nothing we didn’t like.

Very accommodating, allowed us to check in much early as we arrived way before check in time.Also helped us to get a taxi to the train station the next day

Compared to other Sri Lankian hotels’ stays we’ve experienced, the room felt a bit pricey for its small size. In the morning, some traffic noise could be heard.

We were only there for 1 night. The place was clean and tidy, beds and pillow was very comfortable and we slept well.

the breakfast could've been better. and the bathrooms could've been more clean specially the bath tub. Didn't actually match the photos at first but the beds were comfortable.

The room was neat and tidy with adequate amenities.Breakfast was not included in booking price however offered at additional cost and for the amount of food offerd we were not dissapointed.

Great rooms in a good location and with a perfect view over Kandy. The service is without any doubt on the highest level and everything is clean. I would always recommend to book the Piumara to visit Kandy.

This place is totally soulless in need of some care and a lot of repairs Aircon in room leaked,there is no room safe,windows are not soundproofed nor curtains blackout so noise and early morning light is an issue Balcony rail outside the room needs repairs, staircase handrail needs repairs No security visible to meNo room service telephone..you need to ring on the outside telephone number This accomodation lacks any sort of appeal or charm or welcome and I strongly recommend not using this accomodation...even local tuk tuk drivers comment on its lack of cleanliness

Room was clean and in a good walking distance to the Center while still being on the hill having a good view.

We got moved to a different hotel below this one as this one was fully booked. Not ideal but might have been even better as this hotel didn’t look in good shape at all as we still had to walk back to this one for breakfast which is uphill compared to where we got placed. The breakfast was terrible. On the pictures on the listing you see a bread basket and many different foods to choose from. When we had breakfast there was already toasted toast so it was cold and chewy, cold samosas which have been fried so also chewy + very little filling. Then we could have fried eggs or omelet as options with sausage. Then some fresh fruit and pre-made coffee and tea. The whole hotel is extremely dark and doesn’t look or feel very welcoming. The breakfast room was very stuffy and also not open as shown in the pictures but has been closed in.

Long steep uphill walk from city, second bed mattress was saggy, poor service, we had to keep asking for tea, milk and water and toiletry,

Room and the bathroom is very clean. All the equipments were working and the room was very comfortable. Staff was friendly.

Definitely Air conditioner need to beserviced or replaced. Room lighting was very poor. One light hlob was blown , not replaced.

I requested for taxi travel arrangements to Sigiriya, Nuwara Eliya and they arranged in last minute. The local taxi was a deeply frustrating experience. They did not manage the time well, came late and I missed some major attractions in Sri Lanka.
